It is not like it used to be before

After BedStuy, AirbnBrooklyn hits Bushwick, Williamsburg and Greenpoint. If you own a small biz somewhere near, you might want to join the upcoming meetup, organized by Explore Brooklyn, Airbnb and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with One Brooklyn and the Greenpoint Chamber.

These three neighborhoods are crucial for tourism in Brooklyn. Some might call it “gentrification.” I rather call it “opportunity.” Don’t take me wrong, I am not trying to ignore or minimize the effects of the “hipsters invasion” in Brooklyn - In fact, I often blame myself to be an indirect part of it. But, I prefer thinking that every cloud has a silver lining and that transformations in neighborhoods should not be taken as a fatal “it is not like it used to be before.”

Of course it’s not! People and places evolve. We must accompany this evolution so that we turn it into an enjoyable and profitable experience for all.

This is what we’ll try to do at MyMoon, Wednesday March, 2nd @7pm. If you want to be part of it, you can RSVP here.

I am very excited about this event. I hope it’ll turn out to be as successful as our first AirbnBrooklyn meetup, where all members of the BedStuy community gathered for a night of networking, exchange of ideas and fun.

Michael Lambert (Bed-Stuy Gateway BID), New York City Council Member Robert Cornegy Jr. Rotimi Akinnuoye (Bed-Vyne BREW), President of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Carlo Scissura and Molly Turner (Airbnb) during our last meetup.

See you there!
